Getting periodic inspections of your water well is a must. The last thing you want is for the water supply to become contaminated because something isn’t working properly. An annual inspection of your system can help determine if everything is working properly, extend the life of the system and keep your investment protected.
A regular inspection can also help keep your health intact by identifying any issues that could potentially damage your water supply and pose a health risk to you and your loved ones. Your well needs to be evaluated by someone who understands the inner workings of these systems and can get you a solid answer as to whether everything is working properly or not. Routine inspections could be the key to saving you hundreds, if not thousands, in costly repairs.
Visual Inspection of the Wellhead
You should check the above ground portion of the well regularly. Look to see if the well cap is intact and properly sealed. The casing should extend about 12-inches out of the ground. If you notice any cracks or the pipe isn’t extending out of the ground like it should, you need to call in a professional well company to identify what the potential problem is. At HydroGeologic Services, Inc., we have over 30-years of experience.
Well System Components
You can visually inspect all of the components on your own as well. Take a look at the pumping equipment to see if the motor has inadequate ventilation, signs of rust or weakened fittings or potential overheating problems. There are a number of pipes, gauges, seals, valves and connections that come into play to keep everything working like it should. If one of those components has signs of corrosion or a foul smell to it, you need to bring in someone who can get the problem rectified for you. Our small woman-owned water well service knows the ins and outs of well systems just like yours.
Save Yourself the Hassle
By turning to professional for a regular well inspection, you can save yourself a world of problems down the line. If something is detected at the inspection, you can get it taken care of promptly before it turns into something far worse. Ignoring the problem or not having your system inspected could cause your well to fail and leave you with no other option than to start over and have a new well dug. That could cost you thousands of dollars
Not only does a well inspection help secure your safety and health, but it also helps if you ever plan on selling your home. It’s important to let someone know that they are going to get a decent working well water system and not have to invest thousands of dollars in it right from the start. In doing so, you could help give buyers the reassurance they need to make an informed buying decision. Don’t waste time in calling in a professional to perform an inspection for you. It could be just the thing to protect your well-being and keep more of your money in your pocket.
